Cayce
Cayce had a very hard start in life. As a very young puppy, she was thrown from a car near a motel in Nashville. She was very weak, and in poor shape. Fortunately, she was taken in by a small breed resuce and eventually wound up in foster care with a Heart of Dixie volunteer. In addition to suffering cruelty at the hands of humans, she also has the bad luck to be deaf and have hip dysplasia. In spite of that, she is a friendly, outgoing dog. Based on her size and floppy ears, Cayce is probably an Akita/St. Bernard mix, or possibly Akita mixed with Mastiff. In either case, she is a big girl. Since she is a special needs dog, she is looking for that especially caring and knowledgeable family that will be willing and able to provide the kind of home environment and medical care that she will require.
If you think you are the owner that has the compassion and resources to allow her to live her life as fully as possible, please contact the Heart of Dixie volunteer who is fostering Cayce to get more information about this special pet. Thanks.
